I Am My Father's Garden

These are the voices and teachings of my garden. The garden speaks to me, teaches me and disciplines me. For me, it is the Creator speaking through His creation.

Mustard Seed Faith

So, I’m trying a new thing! Rather than purchasing plants (or in addition to), I am trying seeding. One of the things I’m seeding is the collard tree plant. The seeds of mustard, turnip and collard greens are very tiny! You can barely see them and it’s even more difficult to handle them. It’s amazing to see what the results of these tiny seeds become. This reminds me of the scripture “if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” ~Matthew 17:20-21”. We are instructed that if we just have a tiny bit of faith, nothing is impossible! As we sit across the waters in our comfort and watch the tragedy that is unfolding in Ukraine, we have a visible illustration of mustard seed faith. The resilience of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people demonstrate this mustard seed faith. Faith in their country. Faith in their independence. We pray that victory over evil with be theirs. We pray for those who have had to flee from their homes. For those who have stayed and are fighting. Let this mountain be moved!
