Recently, I had to make a trip to The Colony. I knew where I needed to go. From my house, going out Hwy 121 was the normal way I would go. But….Maps was directing me a different way. Maps directed me to take George Bush to the Tollway. I thought that strange but followed the directions. Turns out, it was a shorter, more direct route to that part of The Colony that I needed to go.
We often think we know where we’re going but God wants us to go another way. Same destination. Different route. Psalm 37:23 says that “The steps of a good man (or woman) are ordered by the Lord; and he delightest in his way.” As we embark upon this new year, let us ask Him to order our steps as we lead our chapter in scholarship, sisterhood and service.
Guide us O Lord so that all we do will be to your glory. Order our steps in all that we do so that we honor you and serve your people in a way that glorifies you. Guide our thoughts and the decisions that we make here tonight. In the name of Jesus, the Christ, Amen.
