The garden is in disarray. There are dead plants and lots of weeds. It is showing the results of winter. Winter is hard. It is cold, dark and gray….lifeless. But with the buds of spring peeping out, it’s time to trim the dead vines and pull the weeds. Add and fertilize the soil. Too soon to plant, but time to prepare. There are times when life feels cold, dark and gray…lifeless. We think the sun will never shine again. That the cold rain will never cease. But to quote a great leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, “we must hew out of the mountain of despair, a stone of hope.” And so, with the warmth of the sun on our face, it is time to trim the dead vines of our life and pull the weeds. Nurture our soul with faith and hope. We can look forward to Spring with great expectation. Spring Forward!
