Convicted....when gone too far.

There should be something in your spirit that convicts you when you’ve gone too far. Something that won’t allow you to just carry on as normal when you have said or done something unbecoming to who you are. Society today says anything and everything is okay. But when you have said something hurtful or done something to offend, there should be something within that says “Nope, that’s not okay”. Often times we get caught up in the rat race, the ladder climbing, the “I’m right” that we forget that we are called to be different. I had an awesome experience in the last 12 months where I got into some pretty heated discussions with someone I was working with. This particular person called me later, apologized and asked for forgiveness. This literally brought me to tears, because this does not happen in politically correct Corporate America. But because this person was convicted by a greater calling, and could not live with that behavior, a different response was mandated. Likewise, I found that I had to do the same thing some months later. When we find ourselves losing our true selves, we must pull away and re-center. You can’t just talk to or treat people any kind of way. It’s not about them. It’s about you. And who YOU are called to be. We are called to be different. To respond differently. What is okay in the world, should not be okay for us. It is when we take situations into our own hands without consulting Him that we go off that deep end. We go too far. Yet, thank God for His grace. He tenderly calls us to come away with Him and shows us the error of our ways. Leads us to a place of repentance and renewal. In Him, we are restored.
