It's always too early to give up!

We’ve seen some tough days. Our country is in a state of darkness and despair. So much hatred, conflict and confusion. Personally, I’ve been weary. It’s hard to stay hopeful. To not lose heart. To stay faithful. But in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King…..”Out of the mountain of despair, there is hope”. What if he had given up? And if we give up now, what would have been the point? It’s hard. It’s really hard! From my Draw the Circle reading this week (by Mark Batterson), the following have nurtured my soul:

  • Sometimes God will push us to our absolute limits - the limits of our faith, of our patience, of our gifts.

  • Don’t lose heart. Don’t lose hope. Don’t lose faith. Don’t lose patience.

  • Keep asking. Keep seeking. Keep knocking.

  • You’ve got to praise God if the answer is yes and trust Him if the answer is no.

  • It’s always too soon to give up!

Today’s words are not my own. I am merely sharing what I hope will encourage you as they have encouraged me. Out of my mountain of despair, these words have given me hope. And so I press on. Waiting with great expectation for better days. It’s too early to give up!
