A few weeks ago I was so excited about my first cantaloupe! It was perfectly formed and oh so sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was looking forward to the next one. A few weeks later I went out to check on the next cantaloupe and found it totally destroyed! A critter had come in the night and totally devoured it! I was heartbroken. I had only one left. What was I to do? I decided to try to protect it by hiding it from the critters. I covered it with leaves and then with a metal crate, hoping that this would protect it until it had time to ripen.
One of my favorite scriptures in times like these is Psalms 57. “Be merciful unto me O God, be merciful unto me; for my soul trusteth in thee; yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.” This virus has come like a thief in the night to destroy those unprotected for the unexpected. In the midst of this pandemic, we must seek shelter. Stay home! Stay safe. And when you must go out, protect yourself. Wear a mask! Not only for you, but most importantly for others, especially your loved ones.
Lord I pray that you will protect my family and friends. Allow us to shelter in the shadow of your wings, until these calamities past.
Be safe friends!
